Vision 2025

Hand in Hands
Joining hands with nationals involved in Bible translation - helping top up their support from their local churches..

Churches in Africa, Asia and Latin America are ready to send their people to be involved in Bible translation for people groups within their country or in other countries. It is exciting to see the worldwide church responding to God's call to mission. Vision 2025 depends on the Church in Africa, Asia and Latin America mobilising thousands of workers to go to where God is calling them.

Their churches, their friends and families are giving as much as they can but it is not sufficient for the workers needs. They are giving out of their poverty. Sometimes this is only 25% of their needs, sometimes it is up to 60%. This depends on the context they are working in and their family circumstances.

The Blank Book
In over 3000 languages today, books of the Bible are blank. No way to find out God's message.

The Blank Book enables you to connect with Bibleless people groups around the world. The Blank Book is a way to support the translation of a book of the Bible into their language. Through The Blank Book, you help provide the funds to translate a specific book of the Bible through the work of local men and women committed to the translation of the Bible in their language.Will you help fill a Blank Book?

The website is part of www.vision2025.org with information on Vision 2025: By 2025, together with partners worldwide, we aim to see a Bible translation start in all the languages that need one.

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied;
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master who gently said,
"Child, you must wait."

"Wait You say wait!" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith, I have asked, and am claiming your Word!

"My future and all to which I can relate
Hangs in the balance, and YOU tell me to WAIT?
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
Or even a 'no' to which I can resign.

"And Lord, You promised that if we believe
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.
Lord, I've been asking and this is my cry;
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!"

Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate,
As my Master replied once again, "You must wait."
So, I slumped in my chair, defeated and tout
And grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting. . . for what?"

He seemed, then to kneel and His eyes wept with mine,
And he tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.

"All you seek I could give and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want - but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of My love for each saint;
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence were all you could see.

"You'd never experience that fullness of love
As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove;
You'd know that I live and I save . . . (for a start),
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.

"The glow of My comfort late into the night;
The faith that I give when you walk without sight;
The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked
Of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.

"You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that 'My grace is sufficient for Thee.'
Yes, your dreams for your loved one overnight would come true,
But, Oh the loss! If I lost what I'm doing to you!

"So be silent, my child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me
And though oft' may My answers seem terribly late
My most precious answer of all is still, "WAIT".

Cast Your Cares Upon Him

I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God,
incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
Psalm 17:6

Ye people, pour out your heart before him:
God is a refuge for us.
Psalm 62:8

Whate'er the care which breaks thy rest,
Whate'er the wish that swells thy breast;
Spread before God that wish, that care,
And change anxiety to prayer.
- Jane Fox Crewdson -

Trouble and perplexity drive us to prayer, and prayer driveth away trouble and perplexity.
- Philip Melanchthon -

Whatsoever it is that presses thee, go tell thy Father; put over the matter into His hand, and so thou shalt be freed from that dividing, perplexing care that the world is full of. When thou art either to do or suffer anything, when thou art about any purpose or business, go tell
God of it , and acquaint Him with it; yea, burden Him with it, and thou hast done for matter of caring; no more care, but quiet, sweet diligence in they duty, and dependence on Him for the carriage of thy matters. Roll thy cares, and thyself with them, as one burden, all on thy God.
- Robert Leighton -

(the name of the cemetery)

My sad heart was burdened,
that oft is so light;
tears sprung to my eyelids -
I wiped them away.
this world brings such sorrow,
heartache and trouble;
I've come to find comfort
and rest for my soul.
my steps have slowed down now,
thoughtfully, slowly
this path knows my footstep -
it beckoned me on;
snow glistened and sparkled,
all heaven shone down
it lit up the cold stone
that marked where he lay.
my father still lies here,
six years have since passed;
but upward his soul is
at peace with our Lord.
and now I'm bound homeward
to peace, joy and love;
I know I'm bound heav'nward
one day Christ to see!
oh joy at His coming!
my heart skips a beat
to think of that bright day
when Jesus I meet!

This week I thought I'd take the opportunity to visit Dad's grave, since it was such a beautiful day, and for once I had some time to spare... For a few short moments, the sun sent its rays in a heavenly sort of way... the snow sparkled like ten million jewels... the silence rested my soul... I slowly meandered my way out of the cemetery, pausing to look at some other stones which marked other loved ones' lives...

Upon coming home my dear mother greeted me with a delightful dinner, with candlelight and roses and all! a wonderful way to celebrate my first evening at home in 2 1/2 weeks!

the creepy-crawlies

Check this out - I have spiders infesting my room! it's disgusting!

I wonder how many spiders I eat every night? How many of these many-legged creatures crawl into the wonderfully warm, dark, moist open cavern of my mouth, and find their end? ugh. it's disturbing to think about for too long...

I found this one on my window the other night - I mercilessly ordered the death penalty for invasion of my room. However my mom interceded (as she was the one who was to do the dirty job) and kindly let him escape out the front door. I threatened that if I ever saw him again, or any of his relatives, they would surely die!!!

Sure enough, two days later another of his breed daringly showed himself, but made sure he was out of reach. This time I was not going to allow escape or mercy to intercede - I brutally crushed the wretched creature, and sent him into the swirling, foaming, smelly death of toilet-sewage. I have taken it upon myself to rid my room and home of these horrid creatures - the very thought of having them crawling around creeps me out!

But anyone would have to admit, they are so very intricately fashioned... so delicate, and perfectly made. For me however, that's as far as it goes... I cannot abide having such things in our home, much less in my own room!

Michele I hope that you - the queen of fear of spiders - will yet be able to sleep soundly in my room, despite knowing about the presence of these evil creatures in our house. But don't worry - I'm sure they're very nutritional! ;) Ruth also has some interesting posts indeed on various nutritional snacks - very intriguing... and take a look at this website for the strangest of all recipes.... if you dare! (I'm apprenticing with Ruth in cooking :) who knows what may enter the pot next?
